1. The Wright Brothers
What surprised you the most?
The most intriguing thing to me about the Wright brothers was there bond, yet clashing personalities.
What about the Entrepreneur did you admire the most?
There unprecedented work ethic to achieve their goals, and how much they failed on the path there. They also had independent minds that helped benefit them in the long run.
What about the Entrepreneur did you admire the least?
I did admire their work ethic, but I did not admire there lack of social presence, they had no balance. IT was all work, work, work. As human beings, I am a firm believer in balance. I am no life expert, but I believe that is a good start.
Did the Entrepreneur encounter adversity?
Yes, the entrepreneur did. Multiple times, a specific example was through their failure with the printing business. But they had multiple failures through the duration of their career.
The competencies were:
Resilience, determination, work ethic, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial, creative mindset, that allowed them to think outside the box with the technical side of their creation.
One part of the reading was confusing
Was how they constructed there projects. Didn't fully understand, but they had to continuously interested.
Two Questions
How the hell were you smart enough to build the first airplane? How many times did you fail in your life on things that meant a lot to you?
The Entrepreneurs opinion of hard work
My opinion of his hard work is being continuously productive. Throughout every endeavor they pursue.
I read the same book! And so did Korine!(Thanks, free trial of Audible...) I agree that it was very odd how the brothers were inseparable, but their differences were drastic in a few key ways! I agree their work ethic was amazing, but I think their dedication to self-education is something I admire and envy. About the lack of "balance" you mentioned- in my post, the thing I didn't like about them was that they had no interest in having a family. I don't relate to that at all! What's the point of working hard if you don't have people to call your own to share it with! I guess they already had that with their siblings. -April
ReplyDeleteCody:
ReplyDeleteIt appears that the Wright Brothers book was pretty popular within our assigned group. I noticed that three people have used it as their first reading reflection. I also plan to enjoy the book at a later time in the semester. One thing to note though is that I did not realize the Wright Brothers were so at a loss in their social life. You mentioned as the thing you admired the least as well as the student.
