12A Figuring out Buyer Behavior

1. Medicare and medicaid reimbursement is my specific segment in the healthcare industry.
2. Person 1: Robby Taylor: Robby's biggest problems was in how long it takes for his claims to be reimbursed back to him.
Person 2: Corinne Richardson: Her biggest problem was current software being ineffective in claim submittance.
Person 3: Jason Taylor: Wasn't receiving the right amount back on his reimbursement due to medical billing mistakes.
Overall the biggest problem i was able to assess from conducting these interviews was that they are all having problems with their claim reimbursement.
Information Search: These people reach out to family and friends in finding out a solution to their problems, in word of mouth marketing, or searching out different software vendors.
Summarization: I learned that all of these people have an unmet need in getting their reimbursement back.
Draw Conclusions: There is definitely an unmet need here an people are actively looking for ways to solve this complex problem. Whether that is through asking through family, or doing their own research, they are always doing something to find the most feasible solution to their problems. very active in their search, and diligent people.

  1. Cody, I like how you organized this post (like mine!) into all the little requirements. It looks like your marketing would have to be something besides a simple google search tag, since these people rely on word of mouth. Once you build a customer base you could hopefully use that segment characteristic to your advantage! I think radio ads on talk show stations (like The Sky in Gainesville) would be a pretty good use of money because typically older people listen to that. And radio is basically free for the listeners, so your segment with a tight budget is still likely to hear the ad. -April

  2. Hey Cody, It does seem that claim reimbursement seems to be the main problem your customers are having. These people then go and ask their friends how to solve their problem. How would you market to people so that your product can be spread by word of mouth? I know it would be a different strategy than other marketing and I am curious as to how that would happen.

  3. Hey Cody. Wow this seems to be a big problem and affects so many people. This unmet need is clear and your solution (I went back to read it) looks like a great way to provide the relief your prospective customers need. Like in my interviews, I see that majority of people like to research they problems to find a solution especially with the prevalence of Google.
